Each year, CSF holds a community-wide Gala to celebrate not only our schools and the passions teachers who inspire our children, but also our extraordinary “village” that joins together to support education in Chappaqua.

And what an amazing collaboration it is! Since its inception 14 years ago, thanks to community support, CSF has been able to provide our schools with 140 grants totaling close to $800,000.

To name just a few of our accomplishments made possible by our support.

CSF bought the first SMART boards to our school district in 2004, and has since provided more than $125,000 toward the purchase of 36 SMART Boards across the District.

CSF enabled our high school to be among one of the very few select high schools across the country offering a hands-on robotics program in its computer sciences department.

CSF extended learning beyond the classroom walls by bringing videoconferencing to hundreds of students in our elementary and middle schools, connecting them to leading experts, educators and students around the world.

And now in addition to funding the annual individual grants, CSF is launching a significant multi-year initiative for the first time! With your combined support, CSF will be partnering with the District to convert a run-down lecture hall at the high school into a state-of-the-art, multimedia learning center that will be available for the use of all teachers and students throughout the District. This updated, fully-equipped center also will be available to the community at large for meetings, programs and conferences. You will be hearing much more about this very exciting project in the coming months.

CSF has a vision: “To inspire Chappaqua students to become tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and global citizens.” We accomplish this with your support through the funding of creative projects beyond the scope of the school budget to enhance the learning and personal growth of our students.

As I prepare to step down from the presidency of CSF, I feel a tremendous sense of pride at what CSF has accomplished over the past three years. But the key to success is succession. CSF, like all non-profit associations, continuously needs the nourishment of its community to sustain it. CSF needs residents willing to give generously not only financially, but also their time, energy and creativity.

We invite each and every member of our community to be a part of our vision. There are so many ways to get involved. Sponsor a grant proposal. Volunteer at our events. Provide a donation. Join the CSF Board. Patronize the local merchants who invest in our community along with us. Thank your children’s teachers and administrators for caring so much.

The possibilities are endless! And so are the rewards.

Warm regards,

Andrea Klausner

CSF President
